Straight Forward Funding: Launch Email Sequence

The Background

Straight Forward Funding helps non-profit, community organisations and charities to successfully apply for grant funding. Founder Lisa Jagger helps organisations with funding applications, and also has a monthly membership which offers support and resources for groups which need a lower cost option.

Lisa asked me to write an email sequence to promote the most recent launch of her membership. Lisa has launched multiple times before and wanted a fresh pair of eyes on her messaging. She confided that if there weren’t any sign-ups from this launch, she might need to review the membership offer as a whole.

Lisa is busy both in her work and life, and so didn’t have capacity to promote the launch through social media, or offer a webinar or masterclass. We would be relying solely on the email sequence.

The Process

Lisa has loads of great testimonials, comments from members and clients, photos, press articles and copy she’s used previously. She also shared with me a video of a masterclass so I could really get her style and tone of voice into my head.

I took all of these resources, along with the information about the membership from Lisa’s website, and wrote a series of 9 strategy-packed emails which:

  • showcased all the amazing benefits and value available in the membership offer

  • shared stories about previous client successes

  • addressed questions and hesitations

  • demonstrated Lisa’s expertise and values to build trust.

I delivered the emails to Lisa in a Google Doc, ready for proof-reading and uploading to her email provider.

The Results

I’m so delighted that the emails resulted in Lisa’s best launch yet - without any social media promotion.
